Overview

As we enter your final BTEC Term you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills and perform to an audience. During this module you will take part in the preparation and delivery of a summer show case at Comberton leisure theatre on Friday the 26th June, You will combine the skills you have developed throughout your training and have the opportunity to fine tune newer skills.

The ability to perform in many different styles is a great skill for dancers to have when applying for roles in productions, throughout this module you will explore many different styles of dance to broaden your skill set for the future.

You will participate in many numbers ranging from solos to group pieces. You will be asked to choreograph many of these numbers ensuring you have allocated time for rehearsals.

You will be assessed on both your input and commitment to the rehearsal period as well as your final performance.

You will be required to keep a log book of your rehearsals noting down corrections, ideas, achievements, involvement, input and general feelings towards your performance preparation.

Performance brief
Task Instructions
You will be required to explore the performance brief for the summer show, identifying opportunities for your performance.
You will need to create a rehearsal schedule including identifying priorities and important deadlines.
 
Following this exploration of the brief you will need to decide on specific genre’s your dances and explore some ideas for these pieces, For your acting performance you will be given a script to learn, you will be asked to explore the performance possibilities and characterisation. You will need to present all of your detailed explorations on your blog this can take the form of bullet notes, mind maps, written reports etc. you will be expected to explore a number of options, the benefits and reasons for your final choices. You will need to present your findings in a observant and comprehensive manner.(Unit -1- P1 M1 D1)

Task Instructions
 you will now be required to put your rehearsal schedule into practice, In order to prepare for your performance. You will be required to attend group and individual practice sessions contributing excellently showing an understanding of the piece as well as how your ideas or solutions to problems will shape the work. (unit -1-P2,M2,D2)
 
You will be required to show a highly developed level of self management throughout the rehearsal and performance process, showing determination and active participation in classes and workshops. (Unit 38- P1, M1, D1) you will also be required to respond effectively and positively to corrections, using theses to develop your physical, performance and interpretive skills, you will be required to blog your reactions and  plans for improvements following these corrections. Task Instructions
You will be required to complete aself evaluations at 2 intervals, identifying strengths and weaknesses and setting well thought out SMART targets, these evaluations should help to shape your final performance. ( Unit 38- P5, M5, D5)
